Banh Mi Chay Street cart

Banh Mi Chay Street cart will be one of the most interesting experiences when you want to savor a vegetarian eat. The owner of the stall is a lovely Buddhist woman. Each “banh mi” is served with some morsels of mock meat, slices of cucumber, cilantro and a couple of special sauces.

Each “banh mi” costs too cheap compared to its quality. The range of price is from VND 12, 000 to VND 17, 000 (if you want to add cheese. The opening time does vary. However, she seems to get things going in the afternoon and stays open well into the evening.

Bo De

Some tips that you should keep in mind when visiting this interesting restaurant. The first thing you will see is a section of prepared dishes right on the left. You can choose the food here that is served by a friendly guy.

They are inclusive of rice, veggies, and mock meat, etc. It is up to you to eat in or take away. Many foreigners think that’s the only food available in the restaurant, but there’s actually an extensive menu.

The tip is that you just need to sit down and wait for a staff who will invite you a cup of tea and a menu. English and Russian menus are always available here, which is very convenient for international tourists.  The menu has everything from goat with coconut curry to hot pot to pho.

Yen Chay & Yoga

Not to be confused with popular tourist restaurant Yen’s, Yen is a rad little vegetarian restaurant and yoga center. I’m so bummed it took me so long to discover it because the two meals I had here were two of the best I had in Nha Trang.

Unlike the majority of other vegetarian restaurants in Nha Trang, Yen’s menu is much more Chinese influenced than Vietnamese. They have a selection of soups, salads, and spring rolls as well as curries, hot pots and rice dishes. To give you an idea, we ordered a sweet potato curry, mock chicken braised with a coconut sauce, basil and peanut mango salad, and tofu-squash soup and it only put us back $9 (roughly 200,000 VND).

This place is awesome, but it is located smack in the middle of an enormous construction site so it’s best to go around noon when all the workers are on lunch, or after 5 pm.

Once you reach the waterfall you’ll need to hike up a semi-steep crude path to reach the three pools. To avoid getting lost, you will have to follow red arrows which someone drew on the rocks.

It’s a pretty sweaty and muddy hike. You will have to climb up boulders and at parts, it can be a bit challenging. But the hike is so worth it once you reach the top. Moreover, the chilly pools are so refreshing. It’s also possible to jump off the boulders into the water.
